164. 💻Bringing data driven technology into your salon 💻

Updated: Sep 14

The strides in advancement with technology, artificial intelligence and science are remarkable! Embracing the new elements and evolving our treatments and education will continue to help your businesses flourish.

Data-driven beauty tips in the beauty and wellbeing industry involve utilising data and technology to personalise beauty and skincare routines to help your clients and team make more informed decisions.

Here are five ways to incorporate data driven technology into your treatment room:

💫 DNA testing:

Advanced genetic testing helps to understand the skin's unique needs and genetic predispositions for certain conditions. This information can help tailor your client’s beauty routine for better results.

This is up and coming, the newest addition to the beauty industry and some companies are using clients own plasma etc to mix with products for optimal homecare product performance. This takes medical, science and skincare to the next level!

💫 Results - Track your progress:

New advanced beauty tracking apps monitor the effectiveness of your skincare routine, haircare regimen, or fitness plan by collecting data on the client’s progress over time.

These are a fantastic addition to encourage your clients to follow their homecare regimes between professional services. They can be used to reflect on client behaviour and skin concerns between appointments that can be discussed during each consultation before designing the next professional treatment and bespoke service.

💫 In-depth Skincare analysis:

The use of apps and devices that analyze your skin to provide personalized recommendations based on your skin type, concerns, and needs.

Years ago we had a skin scanner that showed clients their skin from the lens of the sun, all of the freckles, dark spots, dehydration patches and flaky skin that wasn’t visible to the naked eye. This technology was a great sales tool in our businesses.

Fast forward and there are so many more of these available to help us offer the best treatments and product prescriptions for our clients.

💫 Versatile- Wearable technology:

Technological advancements in beauty devices such as smart skincare tools or wearable devices monitor factors like sun exposure, hydration levels, or sleep quality to optimize your client’s beauty and wellbeing routines.

With new modalities, I’ve used several interesting instruments which compliment what therapists are offering in professional services and aid retail sales. For example, the Bio Therapeutics hydration tool was a great asset to boost sales of hydrating boosters, mists and masques at events.

💫 Education - Product recommendations:

Many beauty platforms use algorithms to suggest products based on your skin type, preferences, and reviews from other users.

These are helpful when clients are shopping online, but as a skin expert and business owner we offer the human factor. We use the power of touch to recommend to our clients. That said there are advanced consultation forms that offer recommendations and these are great to prompt less experienced therapists to recommend products and give them the confidence that they’re prescribing their clients the right regime for their skin concerns.

I’ve written a post in answer to many client queries about infra red use, wearable masques at home and how the different colour LED lights benefit the skin Blog 119 ~ The Lowdown on LED https://www.dianarichardson.uk/post/the-lowdown-on-led

By incorporating data-driven approaches into your beauty and wellbeing routine, you can make more informed choices and get personalized recommendations for better results.

Thank you for reading, if this was useful please 🩷 and if it could help someone in your network, please share.
