Sleep deprivation is becoming more of a current topic and is being discussed in the press, round the dinner table and over coffee. It affects many different types of people - city flyers, parents of young children, those suffering with illness and others who are just plain stressed out! The skin has different requirements during the day than at night. During the day the skin is exposed to environmental assaults, makeup, caffeine and poor diet. So the skin needs sunscreen, antioxidants and other ingredients that help to fight free radicals and anti-ageing. A good summertime moisturiser is Pure Light spf 50 because it brightens the skin, helps hydrate and protect it from the ultraviolet rays. It is a light-weight moisturiser that is great for use in during the summer heat.
At night the skin can become dry and dehydrated from the heat and lack of water consumption, it excretes less sebum because the body is less active and regulates its water levels. It is essential to help the skin repair itself by ensuring it is clean, nutrients are restored and it's moisturised with a nourishing cream. There are various combinations of products for different skin types and concerns. I would recommend speaking to your Skin Therapist, but there are a few good all rounders such as the Sound Sleep Cocoon and Overnight Repair Serum that promote a deep sleep, increase the skins luminosity and combat the signs of ageing overnight. Help your body unwind in an evening with activities that help to reduce stress. Exercises such as yoga, swimming or an evening run or cycle can help release the daily tensions. A long soak in the tub, listening to relaxing music or meditating can help free the mind from work and worry. Phyto Replenish Oil can be used in the bath, as a body moisturiser or massage medium to aid relaxation. The best advice to look more refreshed is to try to get some sleep and it will improve your skin condition and lift your mood! Stay healthy and positive, big hugs - Diana x
